fix(package): drop the raw API module count from the PyPI summary - #63
Before: the PyPI summary said "Official WAVE SDK for Python - 43 API modules for streaming, production, analytics, and more".
After: it says "Official WAVE SDK for Python - client for streaming, production, analytics, and more". CHANGELOG Unreleased notes it.
The count moved from 42 to 43 between releases and nothing measures it. wave.online's copy-freshness gate checks registry descriptions against measured facts, and the exception covering this count expired on 2026-09-17, so wave-www's worker-gates step fails on every build until the published summary stops making the claim (WAVE-32922).
How: one line in pyproject.toml plus the changelog entry. No version bump; the next release carries it to PyPI. The tests' docstrings that mention counts are untouched.
Remove the outdated API module count from the package summary
What Changed
The PyPI summary now describes the SDK as a client without claiming a specific number of API modules.
The unreleased changelog notes the change because the module count could not be reliably verified.
Impact
✅ No outdated module count in the PyPI summary ✅ Verifiable package description

Before / after behavior
observed — Modified behavior in CHANGELOG.md: Adds an Unreleased Fixed entry recording removal of the PyPI summary’s raw API-module count and noting the count’s prior change from 42 to 43, the absence of a measurement source, and the resulting inability of wave.online’s copy-freshness gate to verify it (WAVE-32922).

- Around line 11-13: Update the new CHANGELOG entry to use a Conventional Commit
title, such as a suitable type prefix followed by a concise description of
removing the raw API module count. Preserve the existing explanation and issue
reference.
- Around line 11-13: Update the PyPI summary wording in the changelog to clarify
that no authoritative external source measures the API count, or remove the
broad claim that nothing measures it; preserve the distinction that
tests/test_sdk_exports.py::test_api_count checks the repository’s SDK
API-binding count.

Every check on this PR failed before starting: GitHub Actions refuses to start jobs for this account, so no runner picked any of them up and no step ran. Main shows the same failures, so none of this is caused by the PR's change (package metadata and changelog only). The Buildkite pipeline for this repo exists but has no .buildkite/ config yet, so there's no other CI to run it on. Moving this repo's checks and its release path to Buildkite is tracked on WAVE-32929. This PR waits for that and merges once its checks pass there.
The changelog entry no longer refers to internal gates or tickets.
The version stays at 2.2.0 on purpose. The release-drift workflow fails whenever the version, tag, registry and GitHub Release disagree, so the bump ships together with the tag and the publish. That is tracked separately, with the CI and release path for this repo.
